Prof. Jens Mittag
Prof. Jens Mittag, The Institute for Experimental Endocrinology at the University of Lübeck, Germany
Jens Mittag is Professor for Molecular Endocrinology and Director of the Institute for Experimental Endocrinology at the University of Lübeck, Germany. He earned his Diploma in Biochemistry from the University of Hannover in 2003, and his PhD in Endocrinology from the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Endocrinology and the University of Hannover in 2006. He was subsequently a postdoc with Björn Vennström at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, where he then became Assistant and Associate Professor funded by the Swedish Research Council. He returned to Germany in 2014 with a DFG funded Heisenberg Professorship. His work focuses on the role of thyroid hormone in the control of heart rate, body temperature and metabolism.
