Center for Cancer Research, Maryland, USA
Gordon Hager received his Ph.D. in Genetics at the Univ. of Washington, and pursued postdoctoral studies at the Institut de Biologie Moleculaire in Geneva and at the Univ. of California-San Francisco. He is Chief of the Laboratory of Receptor Biology and Gene Expression at the National Cancer Institute, NIH. Dr. Hager pursues studies on mechanisms of transcriptional regulation, particularly the involvement of chromatin transitions in gene activation. He utilizes live cell imaging methods to explore the real time dynamics of transcription factor interactions with chromatin targets. He is also interested in the architecture of the mammalian nucleus, and the role of long range genome interactions in gene regulation.
