Prof. dr. Daniel van Raalte

Prof. Dr. Van Raalte is internist-endocrinologist and professor of Medicine, chair of clinical and translational diabetology. In addition to taking care of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, Prof. van Raalte heads a research group which focuses on mechanisms of chronic/diabetic kidney disease using start-of-the-art deep phenotyping approaches including studies of hemodynamic function and MRI- and PET-based imaging. Therapeutic kidney effects of novel glucose-lowering agents and effects of dietary interventions are also within the scope of his research.
