Welcome to the Dutch Endocrine Meeting 2024

Speaker

  • Prof. dr. Lee Kraus

    UT Southwestern Medical Center

Dr. Kraus is Professor and Director of the Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences, an endowed basic science research center at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas with a research focus on signaling, gene regulation, and genomics. Prior to his move to UT Southwestern in 2010, he was on the faculty in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY for 10 years, where he moved through the ranks from assistant professor to full professor. Dr. Kraus has been a member of the U.S.

Endocrine Society since 1993 and is now serving on the Board of Directors (2023-2026). Dr. Kraus is a molecular biologist and endocrinologist, who has made significant contributions to our understanding of the mechanisms by which steroid hormone and NAD+ signaling pathways control gene expression. His discoveries at the forefront of chromatin, transcriptional regulation, and genomics have increased our understanding of how signal-regulated transcription factors, coregulator complexes, and histone- and chromatin-modifying enzymes collaborate to modulate chromatin structure and gene expression in a variety of biological systems. Dr. Kraus has also been involved in biotech as a cofounder of Ribon Therapeutics, Inc. and ARase Therapeutics, Inc.
