Dr. Jan Kroon, LUMC

Jan Kroon is a preclinical researcher in the field of endocrinology, with a strong focus on drug development. He obtained his PhD in 2016, studying glucocorticoid-based therapeutic strategies for advanced prostate cancer. In 2016 he joined the division of Endocrinology at the LUMC in the group of prof. dr. Onno Meijer, working on a range of topics including therapeutic targeting of the glucocorticoid receptor, circadian rhythm of glucocorticoids and sex differences in glucocorticoid action. His current research focuses on the development of novel glucocorticoid receptor modulators, and on understanding and preventing side effects that are associated with synthetic glucocorticoid treatment.
